Grants from The San Diego Foundation
Support Our Work to Protect and Restore Rose Canyon
In July 2007, the San Diego Foundation,
one of San Diego’s leading charitable institutions,
awarded Friends of Rose Canyon two grants
- a $45,000 grant made possible by the Ariel W. Coggeshall Fund
- a $5,000 grant made possible by
the Willis & Jane Fletcher Family
Fund I.
The goal of these grants is to engage the local
and city-wide community in preserving and restoring
Rose Canyon as a major regional resource for
its environmental, educational and recreational
value. They have allowed us to hire Debby Knight
as a part-time Executive Director and to pay
for some of the expenses related to our work.
(None of the funds pay for our legal costs
to preserve Rose Canyon – these
continue to be raised via contributions from
a broad base of supporters.)

organizations awarded these competitive grants for
The San Diego Foundation's Land and Watershed Conservation Initiative.
We are
honored to be in such good company!
